Martijn Hohmann

During his career, Martijn has gained experience in various fields of banking. After finalizing a degree in Business Economics, Martijn has worked subsequently at Kempen&Co, ABN AMRO Bank and Landsbanki.

Marianne Tijssen

Chief Operations Officer, co-founder

Marianne loves to work with people and bring them together to get things done with high quality and on time!). She has been working for almost 25 years with ABN AMRO.

Bjorn Holmthorsson

Chief Technology Officer, co-founder

After graduating from Reykjavik University, Bjorn started out as a software developer and went on to become a successful IT director, with over ten years of experience, latterly at Landesbanki Luxembourg, before co-founding Five Degrees.

Peter-Jan van de Venn

Chief Commercial Officer

Peter-Jan has a Masters Degree in Systems Engineering at Delft University of Technology. He started his career at Atos (KPMG) Consulting as a consultant in IT Strategy and Management and moved to ConQuaestor Management Consulting to set up a practise focused on Online Financial Business.

Jeffrey Severijn

Chief Delivery Officer

After a degree in Business Economics, Jeffrey has worked in several roles in the financial services industry, in both a business and ICT capacity. Jeffrey has worked for Ohra, Bank Labouchere, Dexia Bank, Rabobank and Binck Bank.

Frank Meerts

Chief Financial Officer

After university, Frank went to the UK to become a qualified accountant (UK and Wales institute). He has worked subsequently in various roles in the fields of financial services, telecoms and media. Before joining Five Degrees, Frank worked at PwC, Cantor Fitzgerald, Rabobank, ABN Amro and DTG.

Loek van den Boog

Supervisory Board

As former key executive of Oracle with over 25 years of experience in global technology environments like enterprise software, telecoms and banking software, Loek brings extensive expertise to the team in how to manage and grow global technology firms.

Allard Luchsinger

Supervisory Board

After a career in financial technology strategy consulting, Allard became an internet entrepreneur and more recently venture capitalist at Velocity Capital, whom he represents on the Supervisory Board.

Hadewych Cels

Supervisory Board

Hadewych Cels is one of the three founders of Karmijn Kapitaal. Before Karmijn, Hadewych was partner at Plain Vanilla, a turnaround investment firm active in Southern Europe. She has a background in hands-on private equity, consulting and entrepreneurship. Hadewych studied economics and applied mathematics and has an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Willem Willemstein

Supervisory Board

CEO of venture fund, Velocity Capital Private Equity, Willem’s experience spans two IPOs, 40 M&As and a multitude of other business deals. Previously he was co-CEO of Petroplus, which he co-founded in 1993 and took public on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange in 1998. Before Petroplus, Willem was a successful corporate banker at ING. He holds a BSc degree with honours from the HEAO business school in The Hague, and an MBA degree from Erasmus University in Rotterdam and the William E. Simon School of Management of the University of Rochester (New York, USA).

Karmijn is a private equity firm investing in Dutch SMEs that are led by gender-diverse management teams. Five Degrees’ relationship with Karmijn started in 2016. Karmijn is focused on proactive partnerships with mutual creation of value plus other aspects such as employee and customer care, long-term vision and innovation.

Velocity Capital Private Equity invests exclusively in fintech companies. It brings deep sector expertise and insights, with a track-record of helping pioneer companies in this sector. Velocity prides itself in rolling up its sleeves and getting to work. Its portfolio companies are equal partners and work alongside Velocity as peers.

Since 2004, 5Square has invested in inspirational entrepreneurs and their companies. It helps entrepreneurs to reach their full potential and achieve healthy sustainable growth, in terms of both financial and social yields. When 5Square invests, it fully commits itself, something it calls, ‘Committed Capital’.

Schuberg Philis is an innovative business technology company that provides managed hosting solutions. It focuses on the mission critical applications. The company has an outstanding track-record and serves various banks. Five Degrees has proudly cooperated with Schuberg Philis on the Leaseplan Bank and Argenta bank projects, the latter for which Schuberg was the main contractor. Schuberg Philis has a dedicated team of skilled Matrix engineers, consultants and project managers.

The Five Degrees technology stack is built on top of the Microsoft .net framework and SQL server. Five Degrees is a silver Independent Software Vendor and a silver Application Development partner of Microsoft.

Virtual Affairs is an international software and services company that specialises in transforming digital channels for banks and insurance providers. Virtual Affairs’ BankingRight is a cutting edge front-end and mobile banking solution. To date we have cooperated with Virtual Affairs on five implementations. Proven technology, proven cooperation.

Boondoggle is a reputed and creative full-service agency with offices in Leuven, Amsterdam and Cape Town. Boondoggle designs and builds portals and apps. Five Degrees has worked with Boondoggle on the rebuilding of the Argenta bank. We expect more implementations to follow soon.

Highly experienced Dutch company, Iquality develops software, portals and apps. Iquality has a can-do mentality and is always at the forefront of technology. Five Degrees has successfully cooperated with Iquality at several projects for Leaseplan Bank.

The solutions of Ortec Finance improve investment decision-making. Opal, the goal-based financial planning and investment decision support engine, is one of Ortec’s flagship products. At Munnypot.com in the UK, the Opal engine has been integrated in the business processes which are orchestrated and automated by Matrix.

The Lexis Nexis instant Identity verification solution has been used as part of the CDD checks at various of our clients. Matrix does outside calls to the Lexis Nexis ID service as part of client on-boarding and product on-boarding processes. Available for many countries.

KPMG Netherlands and Five Degrees have seen close cooperation for a number of years. This resulted in a first joint project for Aruba Bank in 2014 where KPMG delivered project management and consultancy services in Aruba and was able to deliver additional services like lean six sigma process optimisation, which greatly contributed to the success of the project. KPMG has participated in various other projects and has a growing pool of trained Matrix professionals, ready to take on new opportunities.
